L.D. Britt, MD, MPH, FACS, FCCM, who was named President-Elect of the American College of Surgeons on Wednesday, has been a Fellow since 1989 and has been active in governance of the College.
Dr. Britt chosen as next President-Elect
—a general and trauma surgeon from Norfolk, VA—was named President-Elect of the American College of Surgeons during the Annual Business Meeting of Members held Wednesday afternoon at McCormick Place West.

The Board of Governors of the American College of Surgeons has elected Rene Lafreniere, MD, FACS, Calgary, AB; Leigh A. Neumayer, MD, FACS, Salt Lake City, UT; and Marshall Z. Schwartz, MD, FACS, Philadelphia, PA, to the ACS Board of Regents.

It’s never too early to start planning for the 96th annual Clinical Congress, scheduled for October 3-7, 2010, in Washington, DC—the first time the meeting has ever been held in the nation’s capital. American College of Surgeons event planners said it was the ideal time to have the Clinical Congress meeting in Washington, DC, because the College is continually striving to have a more visible presence on Capitol Hill. more
