“Trend Series” highlights July 2007 Las Vegas Market seminar line-up

Seminars on the latest color, consumer and design trends will highlight Las Vegas Market, to be held July 30 – August 3. World Market Center is sponsoring seminars delving into the most recent design trends and use of colors in the home furnishings industry, all of which are free to Las Vegas Market attendees. These featured attractions will take place July 30, 31 and August 1 at WMC and the Sands Expo.

TRENDWATCH LIVE!
Michelle Lamb, Color Management Group, will reveal the most important influences impacting home decor today in this special live edition of her popular, monthly Trendwatch column in Accessory Merchandising. This dynamic presentation will illustrate emerging styles with images from the most recent trade events, including looks fresh from the show floor in Las Vegas. Lamb is founder and chairman of Marketing Directions Inc., which produces a full line of home furnishings trend and color forecasts, as well as “The Trend Curve™,” a bi-monthly newsletter. Sponsored by WMC, Vance Publishing and Accessory Merchandising, this seminar will take place Wednesday, August 1, from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. at the Sands Expo.

CONSUMERWATCH
Maxine Lauer of Sphere Trending will show how design innovation goes beyond the norm for an increasingly mobile society driven by new expectations for space. This need for interchangeable habitats brings new meaning to environments. Learn about consumer and societal trend drivers dictating a new world of individuality within our spaces, both at home and away from home. A well-respected trend forecaster, Maxine Lauer will illustrate how different generations and societal, environmental and technological innovations and needs are influencing design. She also will highlight some examples from Las Vegas Market vendors in a “ShowWatch” section that illustrate these new macro influences. This seminar will take place Tuesday, July 31, from 10:00 – 11:30 a.m. in the WMC World Forum on the 16th floor of Building B.

COLORWATCH
Hosted by color expert Christine Chow of The Color Association of the United States, this popular seminar will explain the down-trending of certain colors from the association’s 2008 palette (presented during Winter Las Vegas Market), ultimately sharing an early look at the group’s new 2009 forecast. Sponsored by WMC, Vance Publishing and Furniture Style, this seminar will take place Monday, July 30, from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. in the WMC World Forum on the 16th floor of Building B.
